The seekers of the world of truth
Have travelled far and wide
To seek the answers and the keys
Of how their life to guide
Why is there such discord out there?
Why is there so much strife?
They asked the sages of the world
Can you explain: “What’s life?”
Life, one said, is simply
Like a great washing machine!
With twists and turns
Water that burns
But in the end you’re clean
Another said it’s cherries
Gathered in a bowl
Sometimes you just get the pits
And sometimes you get soul
Life is like a melody
A tune we try to sing
But oft the tune falls flat on us
And lyrics mean nothing
But in the end, there is a tune
That we all try to hum
And if we think it’s beautiful
Then joy will surely come
Life can be a camera
Just focus on the shot
But if all you see are negatives
Then it’s nothing you got
Perhaps life is a mountain
That may be hard to climb
We may stumble as we ascend
But we’ll arrive with time
Life is like a bar of soap
You think you have a grip
And suddenly life just gets wet
Away the soap does slip
Maybe it’s a boomerang
And to the wind it’s thrown
And as you sow the seeds of good
They come back on their own
Life’s a roller coaster
You flip, you spin, you slide
You trust the one who’s in control
And just enjoy the ride
Maybe life’s a taxi ride
The meter is a counting
No matter if you move or stop
The great cheshbon is mounting
I know the gurus of the world
Who made these silly sayings
Do not really know what’s life
For it’s a game they’re playing
There may be dozens like these
I don’t know all of them
For life to me
Means just one thing
