Musings – Chessed All Around

Look around Wherever you go Notice things And you will know That the people you are And the people you know Don't care about self There's no ego

Hours of learning

A machsom campaign

How would they

Indeed pertain

To someone else’s

Needs or pain?

Yet forever do we see

Written small

Ubiquitously

L’zechus a tzarah

L’zechus refuah

L’zechus kapparah

L’zechus yeshuah

And what’s amazing

No one says

“A zechus for me!”

Often times

The zechus is for

A stranger who

Is sick or poor

People who

We never met

Never saw them

Yet we get

Motivated

And inspired

All excited

Creative, fired!

Learning

Davening

Upgeret!

But you have seen

Nothing yet!

Blood drives

Bentchers

Shabbatons

Filters

Posters

Kosher phones!

Air conditioners

And more

Coolers sitting

On the floor!

All are sponsored

And donated

By tzaddikim

Unrelated

Seeking Divine

Intervention

For illness, death

Or for detention

It was last week

On Shavuos night

That I beheld

A unique sight

Took a break

To get some noshin’

There l’zechus

Sholom Rubashkin!

Stood some coffee

By the sink

Who? I ask would

Ever think

That any tiny

Move we make

Can be for someone

Else’s sake

I’m not sure

What works

Up there…

But all I know is

Yidden care…
